Eligibility
- Entities who are developing new, or building upon existing Registered Apprenticeship programs
- Any employer, trade association, labor organization, and others providing apprenticeship programs for their industry
- While all industries are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to targeted sectors including: Advanced Manufacturing Bio Pharma/Life Sciences Energy, Utilities and Infrastructure Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Financial Services/Insurance Transportation, Logistics and Distribution Information Technology/Cyber Security, Renewable Energy, Healthcare, Other Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related sectors/occupations Construction & Building Trades Public Service.
Benefits
Eligible applicants can request funding up to $12,000 per registered apprentice to:
- Offset administrative costs incurred creating the Registered Apprenticeship Program
- Offset costs incurred for training the new apprentice
- Provide a 50% wage reimbursement for the first twelve months of newly hired apprentices’ employment for occupations paying a starting wage of at least $17.00 per hour
